DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION
VICE MAGAZINE "I shun a lot of female expectations in drag, as I do in burlesque," says Rubyyy, taking off her knickers and stepping into a pair of fishnet tights. "I don't shave any of my body, I don't generally wear heels. Drag can be another pressure put on women about how they could or should look. But you don't have to shave or wear heels or be thin to be fierce or beautiful. I have no interest in being beautiful. I am beautiful." http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/londons-faux-queens

V&A BLOG Our introductions to some of the people on the line-up have been rather eclectic too: in one case being blown-away by a rather unexpected performance whilst perched on a bar-stool, clutching a pint at the RVT http://www.vam.ac.uk/blog/out-in-the-museum/queer-and-now

SUNDAY TIMES MAGAZINE Marilyn Monroe meets Cruella de Ville, and so happy in the limelight I could almost hear her purr. Suddenly, Goldfrapp’s Ooh La La blares out and Rubyyy starts to dance. The next four minutes are a whirl of high-octane activity. One minute she’s doing splits, the next she’s throwing herself at the audience with the energy of the Tasmanian devil, intermittently flinging off items of clothing. By the end she stands on stage naked; imperfections proudly on display and the audience – particularly the women – in her thrall.

THIS IS CABARET The queerlesque supertroupe led by Rubyyy Jones have gone from strength to strength in 2013. The all-killer no-filler line-up sees Jones alongside MethLolo Brow,  Miss Cairo, Ruby Wednesday, Lilly Snatchdragon, Lady Tena, Bourgeoisie and Scarlett O’Hora amongst others. Together, they possess enough quirk and kook to send the Addams Family scurrying but beneath the glitter there are sex-positive messages and a refreshingly undiluted fuck-you brashness. http://www.thisiscabaret.com/tic-recommends-fourteen-see-2014-part-two/

VADA MAGAZINE Rubyyy kicked off the show by reminding us what she was capable of, displaying some true fierceness to the tune of her own song. She was back on the stage again with Lolo Brown later, with one of the most hilarious and passionate interpretations of a Katy Perry song. http://vadamagazine.com/24/05/2014/events/save-rubyyy-jones-revue-double-trrrouble-rvt

QUEER IN CRISIS Rubyyy Jones: a biological woman who still manages to be the fiercest bitch of them all, she combines high art integrity with glamour that’s so wrong it’s right... https://queerincrisis.wordpress.com/

QX MAGAZINE And between all these glories from the swirling nether nether land of performance art, Our Beloved Miss Jones kept the energy soaring within the room with audience participation games – marshmallows was a particular highlight – and getting people to check their breasts, leading by example, and some lucky guys to unfurl condoms onto bananas with their mouths, before the breathtaking last image of beating depression through black balloons. Rubyyy Jones, we’d come save you any time. http://www.qxmagazine.com/feature/bad-wordsss-save-rubyyy-jones/

RARELY WEARS LIPSTICK To quote Rubyyy Jones’ captivating lip-sync remixing her own voice (’cause duh, you would if you could): ‘You’re welcome. You’re so welcome.’ http://www.rarelywearslipstick.com/2014/08/review-fierce-femmes/

BURLESPRESSION With Ruby Wednesday I was astounded, absolutely flabbergasted by what I was witnessing. I fell in love with every act that walked on. I fell in love with Rubyyy Jones when she walked on stage and absolutely demanded everyone’s attention. I was lucky enough to be able to fall in love with her multiple times as she swanned on stage in a new outfit. If anything, I was down right lucky to be exposed to such creatures. http://burlespression.com/2014/03/12/guest-blog-surveydiscussion/

FANCY DRESSCAPADES To conclude the evening there were two burlesque performances, the first by Rubyyy Joneswho performed in a way I’d never seen before! A sort of comedy, modern approach in a vest and jeans and miming a cyber striptease for a webcam to Goldfrapp's Ooh La La - It was rather funny and incrediably naughty! Claps and whoops all around. http://fancydresscapades.blogspot.ie/2012/02/zomg-its-zomgbloggersbash-or-night-of.html

QX MAGAZINE Highlights included getting shocked out of our socks by scintillating sex-change artist Mr. Mistress and cheering at the savvy chic of singer-cum-stripper Rubyyy Jones. “Neo-burlesque should always be on the brink; never passé,” piped up one Ms. Persephone Rex http://www.qxmagazine.com/feature/the-burlesque-olympics/

THE BEAUTY BLOG WITH NO NAME Rubyyy jones performed a brilliant routine which was hilarious. ever so slightly cheeky too to say the least. thank god my mother wasn't there, or she would've had a pulmonary upon hearing "i can't wait to f*ck you". gorgeous girl though. whilst she was performing i saw a few people outside looking through the window wondering what on earth was happening. so many girls watching another girl strip, it was a total oestrogen fest. http://ohhellew.blogspot.ie/2012_01_31_archive.html

VADA Magazine Rubyyy made the perfect compère for the evening, effortlessly and humourously tying together the variety of performances, and getting the audience involved (more on that later)... http://vadamagazine.com/22/04/2014/events/save-rubyyy-jones-revue

RED ROXY STUDIOS When Rubyyy Jones burst on to the stage, the audience became immediately engaged. Her showgirl like presence and loud and commanding voice took the entertainment value up a notch. She performed a track called ‘I wanna be …… by you’ in a way that was extremely entertaining. Her mixture of burlesque performance and crude humour was a welcomed change of pace. Rubyyy is an excellent stage performer and one who deserves recognition. http://www.redroxystudiosxxx.com/new-blog/sexual-freedom-awards
